April Family Update

Well, it has been a very busy month for us. We are now completely moved into our apartment. We moved over the course of 2 weekends and grabbed the last of our stuff from Jeff's parent's this past weekend. I think we are both still a little shell-shocked but we are happily settling in.

We did get the chance to have friends over this past Friday night which was a real blessing since we haven't had the chance to practice hospitality since we moved from Indianapolis about 2 years ago. God has been so good to us that we have the chance to have a spot to call our own for now. There are some drawbacks however. I find that I miss my family much more than I expected. One great thing is that I still work in Xenia and have had the chance to have dinner at their home during my break. My mom's hair is really starting to grow back now that she has been done with the chemo for a few months. It is exciting to see it filling in and getting thicker it feels like it is really over now. Hip hip hooray!

It has been funny getting accustomed to living with just my husband again. At first there was a strangeness with living with only one person again. I had grown very used to always having other people around. Even though we always took time to be alone with each other it has been an adjustment I felt a little like I was living with a stranger-I wonder if that is how empty-nesters feel when the kids go off to college. The whole month hasn't been all work however, we have been able to enjoy mornings in our dining/sitting room with a cup of coffee or tea and have loved watching movies on our TV instead of tiny computer screens again. This is a pic of said dining/sitting room I plan on posting more pics of the place once I actually decorate. Right now half my stuff is thrown randomly on table-tops. It will take me a while to figure out how I want everything to look. But I think I have this room mostly done.

I did have one of those "oh crap! what have we gotten ourselves into?" moments this month when we took the car into the shop to find out Jeff's breaks needed $500 worth of work done and the water pump needs replaced as well. Its amazing though how I really have come to trust God's provision for us. We managed the breaks just fine and God will provide a way for the rest of the car to be fixed.

We also got the chance to visit Jeff's parents over Easter weekend. It is always so nice to visit with them. Jeff's sister and brother-in-law were also able to come up. We enjoyed good food together and Jeff and I may have even converted Trist and Jen into Dr. Who fans. Jen,Jeff's sister, made some really cute Easter cookies, they were pretty tasty as well.

I haven't really gotten the chance to do much knitting. Hmm I wonder why? But I have pecked away at my sock yarn blanket I want to really get working on it in the upcoming months (sorry I don't have any pics to share of my progress, maybe next month). I'm also looking forward to knitting a cover for my Nook and I hope to make a shawl to drape over the chair with a blue paint smudge on it... We will just have to wait and see what I have time for. Until then I think I will sit back and enjoy a nice cup of the tea that just arrived this weekend. :)
